Senior Rowcrop Foreman

Location: Colusa County and surrounding areas

Is it time for a new challenge? Do you have 7+ years of rowcrop management experience, ideally with tomatoes and vineseed? Are you ready to take on the responsibilities of a Senior Rowcrop Foreman as a respected member of a well-established company?

As part of our 5th generation family farm, you will work side-by-side with our owners to direct all phases of our diverse row crop farming operation to maximize crop yields and employee safety.

What You Get:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and manage activities of rowcrop equipment and workers in preparing fields, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
  • Continually monitor soil and weather conditions.
  • Inspect field/crop conditions to determine work requirements, such as land preparation, planting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilizing, spraying, equipment repair, calibration, and harvesting.
  • Train workers on the use of machinery and tools, daily maintenance, assign tasks, inspect work performed, and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Contribute to employee evaluations, document employee warnings, and reinforce disciplinary actions.

As a foreman, your job is to stay one or two steps ahead of the operation to ensure that supplies and equipment are where they need to be to maximize labor efficiency. Collaboration with our owners, Irrigation Foreman, and mechanic, will be critical in planning out the timing and order of operations. You'll be looking at the fields every day to ensure crop health, address irrigation needs, and identify pest problems.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong Mechanical Ability
  • 7+ years foreman experience with row crops such as tomatoes, vineseed, sunflowers, wheat, rice, etc.
  • Exceptional Work Ethic
  • Clean driving record with straddlebug/carryall experience (Class A license a plus)
  • GPS System knowledge and experience
  • Good record keeping and reporting skills
  • Ability to work directly with multiple PCAs and chemical companies
  • Knowledge of crop weeds and pests, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and soil amendment timing and use, and appropriate PPE
  • Ability to train employees, bilingually and willingness to keep current on trainings
  • CPR Certification or willingness to acquire
  • PAC, QAL, or PCA - or willingness to acquire
  • Forklift Certification as well as training abilities or willingness to acquire

Tractor Driver/Equipment Operator

Location: Colusa County and surrounding areas

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision performs a variety of tasks using a tractor, ATV, or other farm machinery.
  • Prepares and drives tractor to complete field activities such as listing, leveling, spraying, cultivating, mowing, harvesting, etc.
  • Operates tractors with attached or towed equipment, safely and accurately.
  • Performs routine tractor maintenance, connecting, disconnecting, calibration and adjustment of equipment, cleaning and washing of equipment.
  • Handles agricultural materials, such as fertilizer, pesticides and other agricultural chemicals safely using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Identifies and avoids problematic situations, such as areas that are too wet to treat, and situations which are hazardous to equipment, personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Understands and follows company safety rules and policies.
  • Reports equipment problems daily to supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years operating equipment in row crop and/or orchard environments
  • Mechanical Ability
  • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Clean driving record (Class A license a plus)
  • GPS System knowledge and experience a plus
  • Forklift certification a plus
